Brian L. James, DDS, is a first-generation dentist, graduating from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He practiced general dentistry in rural Iowa for 32 years, retiring just shy of his 59th birthday. He built three scratch-start practices, serving over 10,000 patients. Dr. James practiced solo and in a group, employed associate dentists, including an orthodontist and multiple hygienists. His practices were considered super general practices, meaning he provided most all procedures. 

Dr. James serves as Integrity Practice Sales’ practice broker in the state of Iowa. He is also a licensed real estate agent (#S72502000).

Dr. James has lectured to dentists and their staff, educating them on clinical and business topics focusing on private practice. He has addressed dental students, giving them the hope that they, too, can develop a profitable practice. His insight and advice can fast-track the dentist to a successful and rewarding career. 

Dentistry Today recognized Dr. James as a Top Clinician in Continuing Education for his efforts. He was recently featured in the Iowa College of Dentistry publication, 'Becoming the Business Savvy DDS'.

Dr. James founded a weekend dental assisting program recognized by the Iowa Dental Board and also provided training for expanded function dental assistants.
